  • ROTA nanny placements typically involve two or more nannies working alternating schedules of one week on and one week off or two weeks on and two weeks off to provide 24/7 coverage.
  • All of our ROTA nannies are CPR and first aid certified, and have extensive experience in high-profile and fast-paced households.
  • Our rotational nanny teams collaborate closely to maintain consistent routines, handle transportation, assist with homework, prepare nutritious meals, and support children’s developmental needs.
  • ROTA nannies bring flexibility and structure  with seamless handoffs and clear communication ensuring children feel secure and cared for, no matter who’s on shift.

What’s the Difference between a ROTA Nanny and a Full-time Nanny?

ROTA Nannies offer the ultimate flexibility! Childcare needs are met without interruption, making it a more reliable option for families with unpredictable schedules or high frequency childcare needs.

DEFINITION OF ROLES

A traditional full-time nanny typically works consistently for one family. They often have a set schedule, working either full-time hours and they become an integral part of the family’s daily routine.

A rotational nanny (ROTA nanny), on the other hand, works in shifts, often covering for one another in a rotating schedule. This setup allows for continuous coverage of childcare needs without gaps, as different ROTA nannies may work different days or weeks.

Rotational nannies are perfect for high-profile families, traveling families, or those with unconventional schedules.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

A traditional nanny’s schedule is generally consistent. For example, they might work from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

ROTA nannies have varying schedules, which can mean that the children are cared for by different caregivers throughout the week or month. This system provides built-in coverage; when one nanny is off, another can step in.

The key is to build a strong team of rotational nannies who collaborate well and make transitions seamless (we can provide guidance on this.)

OUR 5-STEP NANNY MATCHING PROCESS

FINDS THE BEST ROTA NANNY TEAM FOR YOUR FAMILY!

Your family is unique, and your children have their own dynamic personalities. Providing top level ROTA nanny services means that your family’s needs are taken into consideration at every step of the process. We make every effort to match you with a rotational nanny who is not only wonderful, warm, and brilliant, but will also be a role model to your children and create unique bonds with them for years to come. Our ROTA nannies have a variety of skills, college degrees, years of professional household experience, and knowledge of child development.

STEP ONE

We Do a Virtual Home “Visit”

Once a family registers for our personalized ROTA nanny matchmaking services, our team will set up a Zoom consultation to learn more about your childcare needs, wishlist, goals and philosophies. We love meeting parents and searching for that special ROTA nanny who will be an extension of your family and complement your lifestyle. A personal touch is our promise! We want you to feel heard, and we will do our absolute best to find you the perfect fit!

STEP TWO

We Screen ROTA Candidates

From our own network and beyond, we seek out educated, nurturing nannies with years of experience, skills, and the utmost integrity. All ROTA nannies must share the values of Educated Nannies™. We interview all candidates to learn more about their unique experiences, and conduct social media checks. We call their references to verify their employment and ask questions about their qualifications, personality, strengths and weaknesses.

STEP THREE

Family Interviews

This is where things get really exciting! After we have done our vetting, we send you the resumes and references of our top ROTA candidates. These are the rotational nannies who match your skill requirements and schedule, and who we believe will complement your family’s personality and lifestyle! We help you set up virtual interviews to meet these incredible nannies. You are also welcome to do a meet and greet in person!

STEP FOUR

ROTA Nanny Trial

You get to conduct trial days with the nanny where you share more about your expectations and job duties. The trial is an opportunity for both the ROTA nanny and the family to decide if it’s going to be the right fit moving forward. Parents or a current nanny must be present during the trial days. We conduct thorough background screenings upon hire, and all of our rotational nannies in CA are fingerprinted and registered with TrustLine.

STEP FIVE

Congrats! Welcome to the Family

When you are confident that you have chosen the right Educated Nanny for your family, you present the nanny with a contract and make it official! All of our ROTA nannies are considered W2 household employees and families are responsible for payroll and taxes.  We can refer you to a payroll service who walks you through the process. We are there for ongoing support if you have any questions. Congratulations!

“THE PERFECT PROVIDERS”
A Testimonial

“Ryan and Educated Nannies are excellent. Our family has high standards and is very discerning about the providers that we welcome into our home and entrust with our son. Ryan met with us at our home to get to know us and better understand our needs, then did a thorough search to help us find the perfect providers for our family’s needs. We were very happy with the quality of service that was provided – both with our nanny and with Educated Nannies. We’ll be back when it’s time for the next addition to our family!”
